MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee community is mourning the loss of Alicia Renee Machnik, a 29-year-old mother of two, who was shot and killed at a motel on the city’s northwest side on Wednesday.
Police were called to the Port Motel, located near the intersection of Appleton Avenue and Silver Spring Drive, on Wednesday afternoon. Emergency responders pronounced Machnik dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the case as a homicide.
Machnik’s family describes her as a devoted parent whose entire world revolved around her two children, aged 14 and 2.
“She lived for her children,” a close friend said. “Her warmth and care were entirely focused on them. She was a loving, caring woman with a genuinely bright spirit. This loss is devastating.”
In the wake of her sudden death, relatives have launched a fundraising appeal to support her children and cover funeral expenses as they grapple with the tragedy.
