SAN ANTONIO — A 19-year-old man who was wanted in connection with the 2025 murder of a 17-year-old girl was himself killed in a shooting early Saturday morning on San Antonio’s West Side, authorities confirmed.
San Antonio Police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 10000 block of Tiger Field around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, they found 19-year-old Deshawn Suggs inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of his death, Suggs was the subject of an active murder warrant. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the warrant was related to the September 28, 2025, killing of 17-year-old Alianna Ujueta.
Ujueta was fatally shot during a house party near Von Ormy and was subsequently run over by a pickup truck in the chaotic aftermath of the incident. That investigation has remained active since last fall.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the San Antonio Police Department are handling the two homicides as separate investigations. However, officials from both agencies confirmed they are in communication and working to determine if any connections exist between the events.
“The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the San Antonio Police Department are handling the two cases as separate investigations,” a joint statement read. “However, officials from both agencies have confirmed they are maintaining open communication as they work to determine whether any connections exist between the events.”
Authorities stressed that Suggs’ death does not close the investigation into Ujueta’s murder, and detectives continue to pursue all leads in both cases. No suspects have been named in Saturday’s shooting, and a motive remains under investigation.
Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact the San Antonio Police Department or the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, or to submit an anonymous tip through local crime-stopper programs.
